5 Places To Hide During A Florida Zombie Apocalypse
If you’ve seen The Walking Dead, you know zombies are no joke, so here are 5 places to hide during a Florida zombie apocalypse.
Living in Southwest Florida, I feel like we’re pretty safe overall. I live in Fort Myers, so I know that our amazing Lee County Sheriff and the entire department does everything it can to keep us safe. But can they keep us safe from zombies? I’ve seen the movies, the tv shows..I’ve read the books. And the last thing I want is to encounter one of those flesh eating creatures. And while it may not be realistic, I also didn’t think $5 for a loaf of bread would be either. And look where we’re at. Hey, you just never know. The good news though, is that in Florida, there are some great places to hide.
5 Places To Hide In During A Florida Zombie Apocalypse
The Washington Post reports that researchers at Cornell University looked at which states would fare the best in a zombie outbreak. Through an interactive model, New York City would be taken over in a few days, but more remote locations in the northern part of the state might never see a zombie. Florida though, could have a full zombie outbreak in less than a month. We have so many people here. So where do you hide?
Only In Your State put out a list of the top 9 places to hide during a Florida zombie apocalypse. You can check out the full list here. Below are my favorites:
- The Kennedy Bunker- the bunker is on Peanut Island and while I don’t know if zombies can swim, I feel like being out there would be safer than on the mainland.
- Costco- they’re sturdy, plus you have everything you need for survival for easy access
- The Florida Everglades- yes, you’ll have to watch out for gators and pythons, but zombies like more populated areas more
- Walt Disney World- you may be thinking of how busy the parks get, BUT they have an underground tunnel system the employees use, so it would be a great way to escape, hide and hoard supplies
- Dry Tortugas- another island off the coast of Key West outfitted with a protective fort with high walls to keep watch
Now, let’s hope this isn’t something we ever have to worry about. But I feel a lot safer knowing that right here in Florida, we have some great options for survival if we need to hide during a Florida Zombie Apocalypse.
