Dead & Company: Dates for Their Sphere Residency
Dead & Company bid farewell to touring, but that doesn’t mean they’re done with performing. What better way to not tour and yet put on an incredible show than with a residency at the Sphere in Las Vegas?
After being heavily rumored, the band dropped a teaser video yesterday (Jan. 31). The video features the text, “In 2023, Dead & Company played their final tour. But there are other ways to make sure the music never stops. And it’s gonna be a ball.”
The video then cuts to an aerial shot of the Sphere’s exterior engulfed in a tie-dye pattern and then the Dead’s iconic “Steal Your Face” logo.

Residencies at the Sphere
U2, of course, was the first artist to perform a residency at the new Vegas venue, which cost $2.3 billion to build. In December 2023, The Hollywood Reporter noted the 17 shows U2 performed through Nov. 30 generated $30.7 million in revenue, which is an average of $1.8 million per show.
Additionally, The Sphere has screened Darren Aronofsky’s film Postcards From Earth. Through Nov. 30, the state-of-the-art venue has hosted 111 screenings of the film, which has resulted in $44.5 million in revenue. This averages to $400,000 per screening. Altogether, these two attractions have generated over $75 million in revenue for the new venue.
U2 recently announced their final four shows at The Sphere. They are February 23, February 24, March 1 and March 2. After U2 wraps their residency, Phish will be the next band to perform at The Sphere. Their show dates are currently April 18-21.
