Florida Has The Three Most Dangerous Roads In America
Florida landed squarely in the top spot.
America has its share of deadly roadways, and three of the worst offenders are in Florida. And as you guessed, one of those dangerous thoroughfares is right here in the Tampa Bay area.
Florida has had expensive auto insurance rates for years, and with roads like US Route 1, I-95 and our own I-4, it’s easy to see why. Florida’s insurance rates rank 2nd nationwide and it’s because of the deadly traffic on our most traveled roadways. Interstate 95 stretches from Miami all the way into Maine and is 17th most deadly road in the United States. The most crashes on 95 are around Miami and Palm Beach County. The high crash number is attributed to a very high daily flow of traffic around the larger cities. Most of the crashes involved multiple cars and high speed.
Many of you who live in the Bay may think I-4 is at the very top of the deadly list, but it’s not. Interstate 4 still made a strong showing, however, coming in at number three on the list. Most of the crashes on I-4 involved distracted drivers. Read that last sentence again. While the entire road is only 132 miles, the ratio of drivers to crashes is extremely high. Most wrecks are blamed on tourists who are driving rental cars. Those drivers are often distracted by tourist attractions that surround the interstate in the Orlando area. But there’s one road in Florida that is more dangerous than all of the others. In fact, it’s the most dangerous road in the entire United States, and that’s US Route 1.
U.S. Route 1 spans the entire eastern coast of Florida and the Florida Keys. It’s a straight shot with few curves or turns, and that encourages drivers to speed up to make time. a particularly difficult area to navigate is the Overseas Highway, where traffic leaves Miami and is diverted onto the Keys. Rob Halford Votes for Iron Maiden Every Day in Rock Hall Fan Vote
Rob Halford is taking part in the latest fan vote for the 2023 class of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. To no one’s surprise, the Judas Priest frontman is putting his full support behind fellow metal icons Iron Maiden.
Halford told Metal Hammer, “Iron Maiden’s nomination is absolutely overdue. I vote for them every day; you can do it by phone and it’s dead easy. It takes you to the list of nominees, then you pick the bands you are voting for – and I pick Maiden every single day.”
The Metal God added, “When you’re actually in the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame you’re given a vote as a band and Maiden will get Priest’s vote without a doubt. That’s just what we do for each other – we’ve had very similar journeys in both bands, so let’s make it happen for Maiden. It’d be brilliant – Black Sabbath, Priest and Maiden , what more could a metal maniac ask for?”
Currently, Maiden sits in fifth place in the 2023 Rock Hall Fan Vote. The “Fans’ Ballot” will comprise the top five artists from the fan vote and will be counted among the other ballots filled out by various artists, historians, and music industry professionals.
The Fan Vote at RockHall.com run through April 28. Fans are allowed to vote once per day during the Fan Vote period. Visitors of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Museum in Cleveland will also have the opportunity to vote in person.
