$2 Million Worth Of Cocaine Washes Ashore
Cocaine washes ashore in the Keys often.
Ever since a few of my buddies and I rented a house in the Keys back when I was in high school, I was hooked. We spent the week snorkeling, eating grouper sandwichews and walking in bare feet. Since then, I’ve been back at least 50 times. Sometimes we’ve arrived by cruise ship and others by car. We’ve welcomed the New Year on Duval Street several times. We’ve witnessed sunset on the Pier. But there’s another reason to live in the Florida Keys that I had never considered. Nope, it’s not the close proximity to the t-shirt shops with the latest Spring Break catch-phrases, it’s huge packages of cocaine that float onto the beach with alarming regularity!
As residents of Big Pine Key in Monroe County frolicked in the gently lapping waves yesterday afternoon, they noticed something in the water. No, it wasn’t an expired snowbird, it was a bale of some sort. But locals know what that means. It was wrapped tightly and bobbed in the water until they went to retrieve it. When they dragged it to the beach, they knew they had captured a cube shark…a square grouper. Then, another bale appeared shortly afterward. When deputies arrived on the scene, they confiscated the packages. The bales weighed in at 75 pounds collectively and they were pure cocaine. That means they were worth approximately $2 million dollars. Other bundles were found in other areas of the Keys at approximately the same time. Source: WFLA.com

Celebrity Deaths 2023: Musicians, Entertainers & Cultural Figures We Lost
We’ve had to say goodbye to some big names this year in the worlds of entertainment, sports, politics and beyond. To be frank, it was an absolutely brutal year.
So many giants in music died in 2023. Guitar god Jeff Beck died suddenly in January at age 78 after contracting bacterial meningitis. In February, legendary songwriter Burt Bacharach died at age 94. Singer, actor and civil rights icon Harry Belafonte died in April at age 96 from congestive heart failure. In May, the world lost Tina Turner – the Queen of Rock ‘n Roll – at age 83. Iconic pop singer Tony Bennett died in July at age 96.
The worlds of television and film were not immune to significant loss in 2023. Sitcom mastermind Norman Lear died in December at age 101. Three’s Company star Suzanne Somers died in October at age 76 from an aggressive form of breast cancer. Matthew Perry also died in October. The Friends star was only 54. Bob Barker, longtime host of The Price is Right, died in August at age 99. Paul Reubens, best known for his character Pee-wee Herman, died in July at age 70 following a private battle with cancer.
The sports world was rocked by the deaths of three major wrestling figures. In June, The Iron Sheik (Hossein Khosrow Ali Vaziri) died at age 81. Then, in August, there were two back-to-back deaths. First, WWE Hall of Famer Terry Funk died at age 79. Funk’s hardcore style has been influential to generations of wrestlers that followed. Then, Bray Wyatt (Windham Rotunda) suddenly died at age 36. The young wrestler died after contracting COVID, which exacerbated a heart issue and led to a heart attack.

Sean Roberts was conceived in the Corvette Assembly Plant in Bowling Green, Kentucky by two passionate, panel aligning, third shifters who had grown bored with the same ole same ole. Upon birth, he was placed in the trunk of a new Stingray and sent off to find his destiny.
That destiny included several stints on radio stations across the United States. Some played punk country gospel, while others focused on Croatian death metal played backwards.
After many years and many adventures, Sean wound up on The Shark, where he does shots of tequila while playing the most badass tunes ever created by humankind.
He remains humble, however, never forgetting about the lean years...the street corners and dark alleys where he played songs on his car stereo for food and sex.
He's on top and he's never gonna stop LIVING THE DREAM!
