Hillsborough Deputy Jailed For Selling Edibles To Inmates
A Hillsborough County Sheriff’s deputy was arrested yesterday after Sheriff Chad Chronister said the man sold “cannabis laced perishables” to inmates at Falkenburg Road Jail. During a televised press conference, Chronister announced that 25-year-old deputy Terry Bradford was bringing edibles and other contraband into the jail and accepting payment via CashApp. The discovery was made through an internal security squad within the jail.
The security squad learned that Bradford was bringing in a shipment of contraband on January 4th and searched him when he arrived for work. Officials found a pound of cannabis-laced brownies that were individually wrapped for sale in his possession. When he was questioned, Bradford told investigators that he had made several thousand dollars by bringing the items into the jail. Sheriff Chronister said that the investigation is in its early stages and it has yet to be determined how much money was made or how long the deputy had been selling contraband to inmates. It’s also unclear if any other deputies are involved at this point.
Chronister also took the televised opportunity to announce the hiring of another food contractor that is capale of providing hot food to employees while they work their typical 12-hour shifts, hopefully cutting down the problem of being hungry while working. aqll employeesa are alowed to bring in their own food due to potential dietary restrictions. Bradford was fired during the investigation. He had worked for the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office for about 18 months. He has been charged with introducing contraband into a detention facility and possession of a controlled substance. Sheriff Chronister ended his comments by saying additional charges could still be added and other deputies may still face prosecution. Source: ABCActionNews.com
