Florida Is 47th Most Patriotic State
Dang, who would have thought that Florida would score so low in the patriotism department? In a recent poll, the Sunshine State showed a dismal 47th place showing in patriotism. To be fair, the Gallup poll stated that only about 50% of Americans claimed to be “extremely proud” to live in the USA. According to the poll, pride in the U.S. has fallen to historic lows. Still, a solid 65% said they are “proud” to live here. The slump in patriotism is being blamed on several things. First, citizens are weary of a pandemic-mandated lifestyle, where we stay home more often and wear masks when we venture out. Second, inflation has hindered us from getting out and doing fun things. Third, Americans have seen violent crime increases, making them choose to just stay home and remain safe. Men tend to have more pride in their country than women in the poll. Gallup does have some good news, though. They say research indicates that while Americans are showing outward pride in their country, they still feel proud. They are simply less likely to state their opinions openly. Source: WFLA.com
