Metallica: Massive Reissue of ‘The Black Album’ Includes All-Star Covers Album
Metallica has finally announced the details around the reissue release of Metallica aka: “The Black Album,” and they sound incredible.
Due out September 10, the reissue will highlight the original album (obviously) but also something dubbed The Metallica Blacklist, an all-star covers album of over 50 artists putting their own spin on the classic tracks that make up “The Black Album.”
So, who can you expect to hear on The Metallica Blacklist? A staggering variety from the worlds of rock, pop, country, hip-hop and beyond including Corey Taylor, Miley Cyrus, Elton John, Chris Stapleton, Volbeat, THE HU, Portugal. The Man, Mickey Guyton, Cage The Elephant and many more. Per the band’s website, “One hundred percent of the profits go to charity – 50% to our own All Within My Hands and 50% to a charity of each artist’s choice.”
