Harvey Weinstein Verdict: Guilty
Harvey Weinstein has been found guilty of 1st-degree criminal sexual act and 3rd-degree rape. Per Page Six, the movie producer could face up to 25 years in prison. They explain that Weinstein “Was found guilty of criminal sexual act in the first-degree for forcibly performing oral sex on former ‘Project Runway’ production assistant Miriam ‘Mimi’ “Haleyi and rape in the third-degree for the rape of hairstylist Jessica Mann.” He was, however, acquitted of predatory sexual assault. That would have been a life sentence.
TMZ explains that a jury of seven men and five women reached their verdict after almost six days on deliberations. They add, “This comes after an interesting turn on Friday … when the jurors sent a note to the judge asking if they could be hung on 2 counts of predatory sexual assault and unanimous on the others.” They were told by the judge to deliberate until today.
Weinstein has pleaded not-guilty and has denied all allegations against him. He still faces four sexual assault charges in Los Angeles.
