Billie Joe Armstrong on Why He Wants Green Day to Re-Record ‘Warning’
There are likely a few things many of us would want to do-over in our lives. For Billie Joe Armstrong, it’s Green Day‘s 2000 album Warning.
Armstrong mentioned the idea in a new feature piece from Rolling Stone titled “Billie Joe Armstrong: My Life in 15 songs.” Among that list of songs is “Minority,” and Armstrong said, “I’d like to go back and rerecord that album. It was right when Pro Tools started happening. I want to go back and just do everything more live, because I think “Minority” live is a lot better than it came out on the album. But that’s just one of those things that you think about too much.”
Green Day is certainly too busy to re-record anything right now. The band is just one week out from the release of their new studio album Father of All…, which comes out February 7 and is available for pre-order through multiple outlets here. Plus, Green Day will be out in force this summer with Fall Out Boy and Weezer for the “Hella Mega” stadium tour. A full list of dates can be found at GreenDay.com.
