Author/Columnist Carl Hiaasen says the Florida Keys Are Doomed
All the signs are there, yet people continue to deny the science, flooding is already a problem in the lower part of the Florida Keys, and will only get worse with time.
Many wealthy property owners are taking measures now to help buttress their properties against the rising water. Miami Herald columnist Carl Hiaasen says ” residents of Stillwater Point have been forced to adapt to life in standing water. Some wear rubber boots or travel by paddleboard, and use freshwater hoses to wash the salt off their belongings.”
Streets in the neighborhood have even posted no-wake signs….for cars. Oh yes…the high water is coming!!
