Even Though It’s Colder…Red Tide Is Still Plaguing SWFL Beaches
The Collier and Lee County shorelines are still littered with red tide and the smell and health effects are very much a part of daily life for those who live near the beach. Concentrations in Collier were measured at very low to high levels and levels in Lee County were measured at background to high levels. High concentrations were found as far as 10 miles offshore. High winds could be the answer according to marine scientists.
