Jack White Receiving Honorary Doctorate from Wayne State University
From now on, we can all address him as Dr. White.
Jack White will be receiving an honorary doctorate from Wayne State University. White attended the Detroit-based university for just one semester in 1994 before dropping out.
Per Wayne State, White will receive an honorary doctor of humane letters degree “for his dedication to Detroit and significant contributions to the arts as one of the most prolific and renowned artists of the past two decades.”
The Detroit Free Press said White will be in attendance at the Friday, May 3 commencement ceremony for Wayne State’s College of Fine, Performing and Communication Art and College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. No word yet if he will be speaking at the ceremony.
