Sri Lanka Bombings: Over 200 Dead in Attacks on Churches, Hotels
Eight bombings have taken place in Sri Lanka today (April 21) that has resulted in the deaths of at least 207 people and injuries in 450.
Per The Guardian, six locations, including three churches and three hotels, were bombed followed by explosions at a guest house and housing scheme. So far, eight people have been arrested in connection to the attacks.
Sri Lanka’s defense minister Ruwan Wijewardene said the attacks were carried out by a single group of “religious extremists” and suicide bombers were responsible for most of the explosions.
No specific terrorist group has taken responsibility for these attacks at time of publishing.
