New AC/DC Album Reportedly Will Serve as Tribute to Malcolm Young
The rumors and buzz around a potential new AC/DC album are changing with every passing week. If the latest developments are true, this album could be amazing.
Eddie Trunk touched on the latest AC/DC news on SiriusXM Volume and said that not only is the album done, but it will feature some recorded riffs from the late Malcolm Young.
Referencing an unnamed but “very, very, very well-placed, reliable source,” Trunk said, “Malcolm had a bunch of stuff recorded that they worked off of and sort of incorporated into the record.”
Trunk continued, “This was sort of a unity thing to come together and put out some of Malcolm’s music and celebrate AC/DC.”
As far as touring in support of the album, Trunk relayed that his source said there are currently no plans to tour.
This development comes about a week after grindcore band Terrorizer shared via their Facebook that they ran into Brian Johnson at the airport and asked him about all of the AC/DC rumors. Their post read, “We ran into Brian Johnson from AC/DC at the airport today after the flight home and we asked him about the rumors of him being on the new AC/DC album and he said, ‘Yes’ and that he is ‘Sick of denying it.’”
As with anything AC/DC, we won’t really know what’s going on until the band wants it to be known to the public.
