Jonathan Davis Shares Update on New Korn Album
Korn is looking at a very busy 2019, with Jonathan Davis sharing a recording update via his Instagram.
In the post, Davis writes, “I want to thank you all for your kind words over the last couple months what I’m going thru has not been easy by any means. You all helped make the pain bearable. In return I promise to give you my all on this amazing new @korn_official record we all can heal together. #recordingvocals”
The pain Davis is referring to is the passing of his estranged wife and mother to two of his children, Deven Davis, who died from an accidental overdose in August 2018.
Korn has been hard at work on the follow-up to 2016’s The Serenity of Suffering for some time now with the previous studio update coming from Brian “Head” Welch in an interview on Talkin’ Rock with Meltdown December 2018:
“A month with the family, a couple weeks in the studio writing…Where we’re at is we’re done with the drums of the songs we’ve written, and I think we’re gonna write more. The guitars aren’t done yet. The bass is far from being done. The vocals have been messed with a little bit, so we’re taking our time, man. We’re going to hit it hard at the beginning of the year, and hopefully get this thing knocked out. We’ve taken the biggest break that we have in years, and it was meant to be. Someone’s watching over us, because you know, Jonathan [Davis] and his tragedy [of the death of his estranged wife, Deven] that he’s gone through, he needed time off, and he needed to focus on things more. So yeah, it’s been good, but we can’t wait to get back, man. We got things cookin’, so we’re hoping to make some announcements in early next year.”
