In Case You Needed Another Reason to Respect Jerry Cantrell
Throwing out the ceremonial first pitch at a baseball game is a daunting task that has led to some of the Internet’s best epic fails. (Looking at you, 50 Cent.) However, if you’re Jerry Cantrell, you just go out there and own it.
Last night (August 20) was “Alice in Chains night” at Safeco Field which saw the Seattle Mariners take on the visiting Houston Astros. The night served as a promotion for the band’s new album Rainier Fog that comes out this Friday (August 24), and part of the festivities featured Cantrell throwing out the ceremonial first pitch.
So, how did Cantrell fare? You tell me!
Top of the mound…Right down the middle of plate…Like a motherf*cking champ!
Sure…does making a big deal out of this moment seem a bit much? Yes, but any excuse to throw praise at Jerry Cantrell is a good excuse. (Also, it’s a slow news day. Sue me!)
Now go pre-order Rainier Fog! All of the previews have sounded fantastic!
