Rockin’ 1000’s “Seven Nation Army” Jam in Jeopardy
Rockin’ 1000’s plan to film a mass jam of the White Stripes’ “Seven Nation Army” in Detroit has hit a major snag.
Per the Detroit Free Press, the event was denied a permit for the July 3 gathering on the city’s Belle Isle State Park by the Michigan Department of Natural Resources (MDNR.) MDNR spokesman Jason Fleming said of the permit denial, “There was an application to do a shoot, but it didn’t mention 1,000 musicians. We have a review process for all our permits. We were working on a completely different understanding of what the event was going to be.”
Rockin’ 1000 organizers are currently looking for a new location for their shoot, which is planned to be featured on the CBS reality series The Amazing Race.
Here’s hoping everything comes together, because their video from 2015 of 1,000 musicians performing Foo Fighters’ “Learn To Fly” still gives us chills.
