ICYMI: Amazon And Other Online Retailers Ruled To Charge State Taxes
Online pricing is about to get higher, so gird your wallets.
Last Thursday, the Supreme Court ruled that states can now require online and out-of-state retailers to collect sales taxes for purchases made. According to CNET, it was a shoppers responsibility to send tax payments for their online purchases, but really, who did that?
According to the report, this overturns 50 years of past practices and moving forward, it will cost consumers more to buy from those online retailers, not only just in taxes, but items will be marked up.
Most people will still pay for the fees if there’s something that they really want, but some others may be frustrated with the hike in the cost of the items. According to CNET, most people will not even notice a difference.
