Brent Smith on What Fans Can Expect From Shinedown’s New Album
Shinedown is less than a month away from the release of their sixth studio album Attention Attention, and fans will be in for a different ride with this LP.
Frontman Brent Smith recently sat down with WRIF’s Meltdown where the album’s creative direction was explained:
“The whole record overall is about not being afraid to fail…This record is definitely what we call a ‘story album.’ The whole record does tell a story. Everything happens inside of a room…We let everyone see into the world of this record with the first video with ‘DEVIL,’ and how ‘DEVIL’ starts is how the story starts. You begin this journey in a very, very…let’s just say not pleasant atmosphere. All of a sudden, you go into the dynamics of these songs as they come one right after the other, and you start to see the evolution of this individual and what they’re going through…The other goal with it, too, is to take the listener on a journey and for the listener to put themselves inside that room and follow along with this story.”
Attention Attention comes out May 4 is currently available for pre-order through multiple digital outlets with special vinyl and merchandise bundles up for grabs at Shinedown.com.
