Green Day: Our New Favorite Cover Band
We like Green Day for a myriad of reasons, but their penchant for showing up in random places is one of our favorites.
The latest example of this happened late Friday night (March 9) at San Francisco’s Thee Parkside, a super-small club that only holds approximately 100 people.
Billed as the cover band called The Coverups, Billie Joe Armstrong and Mike Dirnt appeared alongside a number of Green Day’s personnel including tour manager Bill Schneider, touring guitarist Jason White and audio engineer Chris Dugan. Per Alternative Press, Tre Cool isn’t an official member of The Coverups, but he still made an appearance during the set, which included a wide variety of tracks from “American Girl” to “Jessie’s Girl.”
