FLASHBACK: Kid Rock, Run-D.M.C., Aerosmith Rock VMAs
Kid Rock celebrates his 47 birthday today (January 17), and after establishing much of his reputation on his incredible live show, few would argue that one of his best performances in his career came at the 1999 MTV VMAs.
At the height of rap-rock’s popularity, the K-I-D was joined by legends Run-D.M.C. and Steven Tyler and Joe Perry of Aerosmith in a culminating melody of “Walk This Way.” It still remains one of the most iconic moments in VMA history (Madonna kissing Britney be damned.)
Also, the fact that Tyler and Rock were able to pull off that mic toss exchange live is nothing short of a miracle.
