Greta Van Fleet’s Sam Kiszka on All Those Zeppelin Comparisons
Out today (November 10) is From The Fires a new “double EP” from the red-hot Michigan quartet Greta Van Fleet.
The eight-track set features the four tracks from the group’s debut Black Smoke Rising EP — which features the chart-topping rock hit “Highway Tune” — along with four new recordings that include a cover of Sam Cooke‘s “A Change Is Gonna Come.”
Since “Black Smoke Rising” came out in April, GVF has been compared to many of its classic rock forebears, notably Led Zeppelin. Bassist/keyboardist Sam Kiszka tells us those have been surprising, and humbling:
“It’s really kind of unreal, because the people that we’re compared to, they’re pretty amazing. I’m not sure we deserve the comparison. I don’t think we’re that good, but I think it’s very flattering and it tells me we’re going in the right direction.”
GVF begins a U.S. tour on November 30 in Chicago that runs through December 30 and is already lining up festival dates for 2018.
