Flea Honored With Lifetime Achievement Award
Red Hot Chili Peppers‘ bassist Flea will be honored at this year’s Bass Player Live! conference during November in Los Angeles, receiving a Lifetime Achievement Award.
Flea (real name Michael Balzary) will be feted for his work with the Chili Peppers, as well as for his non-profit Silverlake Conservatory of Music that he founded during 2001 to bring music to underprivileged children.
Also being honored during the event — which takes place November 4-5 at SIR Studios. will be Donald “Duck” Dunn of Booker T & the MGs, who will receive a Posthumous Lifetime Achievement Award, and noted session guitarist Jimmy Johnson of the Muscle Shoals Rhythm Section.
