September 21, 2004: Green Day Releases ‘American Idiot’
To say Green Day’s American Idiot was a game-changer for the band would be a massive understatement.
Selling 15 million copies worldwide (over six million copies in the U.S. alone), American Idiot was a shot in the arm to Green Day’s career. The ambitious rock opera lead the band down many paths (including the eventual stage musical adaptation) but none more important than the path that lead them to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2015.
In honor of the album’s 13th anniversary, we look back at the bold and brash music videos from American Idiot.

(Sir Paul McCartney inducting Foo Fighters? C'mon now!) She's also well-versed in etiquette and extraordinarily nice. #TransRightsAreHumanRights
