Greta Van Fleet’s Sam Kiszka On Juggling Making Music While Touring
Greta Van Fleet has been logging plenty of road time this summer, supporting its debut EP Black Smoke Rising. But more recently the group can be found in the studio back in its native Michigan, working on new material that will be released in the near future.
Bassist/keyboardist Sam Kiszka tells us that with the quartet blowing up on both sides of the Atlantic, it’s been a challenge to fit everything in:
“Everyone’s been requesting more material, which is great to have that kind of response with people, and I guess they’re into it enough where we kind of hold back from the touring and get more in the studio. It’s a difficult thing to juggle, going out to play shows and giving the people more material. It’s a tough split, but we’re finding a happy medium right now.”
There’s no word on when GVF’s next new music will come out, or what form it will come in. The group is back on the road this weekend in Europe, meanwhile, and will play its first London date on Wednesday (September 27) at the Boston Music Room. It has a selection of U.S. dates booked into mid-December as well.
