Brewery Allows Paid Time Off For Employees With Puppies
Having a puppy join your family can be difficult!
As people who have had a furry baby, you understand that a lot of your time can be devoted to them. From training to making sure they aren’t chewing up your couches, they can be just as tough as having a toddler! Unlike having kids, it’s hard to get out of work to go and take care of your dog. Most companies don’t understand that a puppy needs just as much attention! Well, except for one.
The brewery, BrewDog, is now allowing paid leave for those employees with new puppys. After all, they are a part of your family! The company is based in Scotland and is hoping to open a taproom in the United States later this year.
Employees who are working at the company are qualified to take paid leave if they have just adopted a puppy or have rescued a dog. According to BrewDog, there are approximately 1,000 people working for their company currently. Out of all of the companies in the USA and UK, theirs is the first to offer paid leave for four-legged children.

USA Today reported that the company wanted to ensure that its employees dogs were accustomed to their new surroundings. Company co-founder told them that they “wanted to take the stress out of the situation and let our teams take the time they need to welcome their new puppy or dog into their family.”
Aside from having paid pet leave, employees are also encouraged to bring their dogs to work! What a great work environment especially for those who have a hard time getting home to take their pooch out.

For those employees who are planning on having human babies, BrewDog also has “enhanced paternity and maternity pay”. Needless to say, this company is looking better and better to work for especially for those individuals with growing families.
