Linkin Park Land Billboard Chart Record
In the wake of frontman Chester Bennington‘s death, Linkin Park has set a new Billboard chart record.
The group has 23 songs on the BillboardĀ Hot Rock Songs Chart this week, breaking David Bowie‘s record of 21 during January of 2016 in the wake of his death. The group’s 2003 favorite “Numb” is the highest-charting entry at No. 2, with six other songs — “The End,” “Heavy,” “What I’ve Done,” “Crawling,” “Somewhere I Belong” and “One More Light” in the Top 10.
Linkin Park has also become the first band to score three albums on Billboard’s Top Rock Albums chart at the same time, with the new One More Light at No. 1 this week, Hybrid Theory at No. 2 and Meteora at No. 3.
Linkin Park recently announced more than 300 officially sanctioned tributes to Bennington around the world, beginning this weekend.Ā Bennington died on July 20 at his home in California; His death has been ruled a suicide by hanging, and a private funeral service was held on July 29.
