WATCH: Royal Blood’s New Video “I Only Lie When I Love You”
Royal Blood has released another song and video a week in front of the release of its sophomore album.
The British duo’s “I Only Lie When I Love You” is the third song previewed from How Did We Get So Dark?, which comes out June 16. It follows “Lights Out” and “Hook, Line & Sinker,” and singer-bassist Mike Kerr tells us that he and drummer Ben Thatcher hunkered down hard on songwriting for the new set:
“Yeah, on this record we spent a good part of the year writing and doing nothing but writing. It wasn’t really ’til when we hit the studio that the record came together. We had lots of ideas and lots of songs written, and in the studio we started…to cull what wasn’t gonna make the cut. It was just a different experience.”
Royal Blood wraps up its current North American tour this weekend at the Bonnaroo Music Festival in Tennessee and is returning for another run of U.S. dates on July 31.
