Chris Cornell’s Wife Still Has Unanswered Questions
More than two weeks have passed since Soundgarden frontman Chris Cornell’s death, and his family — particularly his wife Vicky — are still asking questions about what happened in the week hours of May 18 in Detroit.
and family attorney Kirk Pasich have issued another statement questioning the Wayne County Medical Examiner’s Office ruling of suicide by hanging, with Pasich saying that “the family remains mystified that the medical examiner announced a cause of death when the full autopsy report was not completed.”
Vicky Cornell meanwhile continues to believe her husband’s use of the anti-depressant Ativan played some role in his death, stating that, she and Pasich “still have several unanswered questions about what led to his death. We believe the toxicology report will answer these questions.”
Pasich added that the family asked the City of Detroit Law Department for documents related to Cornell’s death via a Freedom of Information Act request but was denied because it is still considered an open investigation.
Cornell was cremated on May 23, while a private memorial ceremony was held May 26 at the Forever Hollywood Cemetery in Los Angeles.
