Find Out Why Andy Runs Alone
Andy was pretty heavy into running a little while ago and has shared some stories about his experiences on the roads. Today, we heard about a time he told a stranger that he wouldn't run with him because he "runs alone". It was all inspired by a prankster in Scotland that was making people go the wrong way during a race.
According to STV News, "Participants in a race in Castlemilk Woodlands on Sunday were sent down the wrong path by a member of the public pretending to be a marshal. The prankster buried arrow signs meant to keep runners on the right track and instead changed the direction of the route with another sign. They also pointed participants towards the wrong part of the trail, causing concern for safety as runners were marshalled into an unmarked area."
Of course, we find this to be extremely funny because it didn't really hurt anyone and those are some of the best pranks.
Then, we started talking about running and Andy has some experience running alone and running with a group. He says that he tried to do a group style run but felt like he was going to be left behind. And, he had trouble carrying conversation with some of the fellow runners, so he realized group runs weren't for him.
So, while out on a solo run, he was approached by a man who asked if he could join him in the exercise. Andy politely told him no. But, the best part is that what he really said was, "I run alone". One of the coolest responses if I've ever heard. Mysterious and powerful all at the same time. So the guy left and Andy continued on his run, by himself.
The moral here is if you ever see Andy out on a run, don't ask to join. He's not your Forrest Gump. Andy runs alone.
