YouTuber Crashes Car Worth $200K In Florida While Distracted By His Phone
A YouTuber crashed an insanely expensive car in Florida because he was distracted by his phone. When will we learn?
If you didn’t know by now, distracted driving is very dangerous. That’s why we’re constantly warned about it and there are laws in place to prevent it. However, despite all the potential consequences we still continue to do it and won’t give up being distracted by our phones while driving. Even if it means destroying our $200,000 car!
YouTuber Crashes After Being Distracted By His Phone
It doesn’t matter how expensive of a car we’re driving, if we have our phone with us we’re going to end up looking at it. Maybe it’s to send a text, take a call, Google something real quick, make a quick video for social, there are so many possibilities and they’re all dangerous if you’re behind the wheel.
20-year-old Jack Doherty has now reportedly been banned from the streaming site Kick after he crashed his $200,000 sports car (a 2024 McLaren 570S) near Miami, Florida while livestreaming, per Road And Track. It looks like he lost control of the car at one point and hydroplaned across the right traffic lane into a nearby security barrier. Why would you be on your phone while driving that car and in those conditions?! Any driver could see that the road conditions are wet and visibility was low so it was dangerous conditions out there. However, that didn’t stop the 20-year-old from trying to appear cool by being on his phone behind the wheel. Not so cool once you hear his screams trying to get the vehicle back under control. Check out the video shared on X (formerly Twitter) by @FearedBuck below.
A separate post shows the 2 in the hospital and it looks like passenger got the worst of it here. He’s seen in a picture bleeding from his face and it looks bad! Granted, it’s understandable if you see the damage done to the car. These 2 are lucky to be alive! It’s one thing to go out and mess around on a test track or something but they were out on a road with regular drivers!
It’s another example of how influencers will do anything for views and clicks on social media, even if it means putting their life–or the life of a friend and others–on the line. This was not a smart decision. Thankfully, both are reportedly okay and there were no injuries in the crash. They’re incredibly lucky, though. There is still no word on if there will be any charges but people online are asking for it and you can’t blame them. It will probably take much more than that to teach him a lesson, it seems like. Maybe ban him from social media? If we started doing that we’d see a lot less stupidity and dumb risky stunts out there that could put us in danger. That seems like it could be the only thing to stop them.
