Kirk Hammett Thinks Metallica Doesn’t Tour Enough
Metallica tours are special events nowadays since they aren’t always on the road. If you wished Metallica toured more, Kirk Hammett agrees with you.
The guitarist said on The Metallica Report podcast, ” … I’m happy having the feeling of, like, Metallica is a working, touring band, ’cause sometimes I miss that feeling, ’cause I don’t believe we tour enough.”
He added, ” … ‘Cause this is what it’s all about, is playing guitar and writing, recording, going out on tour … I don’t feel that there’s enough of it in my life right now.”
If we’re talking “right now,” Metallica is in the middle of the 2024 leg of their M72 world tour. The iconic metal band’s next show is on June 26 in Oslo, and they’ll return to North America in August with their first two-night stand taking place August 2 and 4 at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Mass. Metallica & Fortnite
In other news: Metallica has partnered with Fortnite to bring unique themed gameplay options, as well as in-game performances.
In a statement, Metallica said, “We’ve been lucky enough to perform on every continent on the planet, so we set our sights on Fortnite as our next stop. It’s all happening starting this week as we’re excited and very proud to be the first band at the center of all Fortnite experiences with Metallica-themed gameplay coming to Fortnite Festival, Battle Royale, LEGO Fortnite, Rocket Racing, and more tomorrow, June 13.”
The band added, “Plus, as part of an all-new music experience inside of Fortnite, ‘Metallica: Fuel. Fire. Fury.’ will bring a series of in-game concert performances to players only on June 22 and June 23.

When Can Fans Catch Metallica’s In-Game Performances?
Three separate playable concert performances will take place on June 22 and 23 at the following times:
Saturday, June 22
2 PM ET // 11 AM PT
5 PM ET // 2 PM PT
11 PM ET // 8 PM PT
Sunday, June 23
10 AM ET // 7 AM PT
2 PM ET // 11 AM PT
5 PM ET // 2 PM PT
These are the only times fans can access the in-game performances via Fortnite Festival, so if you’re interested, set yourself a reminder.
If you’re new to Fortnite but want to check it out for the Metallica content, Fortnite is available to download for free on PlayStation, Xbox, Switch, Android and PC. Once you’re in the Fortnite Lobby, you’ll be able to select the various games available, which include the aforementioned Fortnite Battle Royale, Fortnite Festival – Main Stage, Fortnite Festival – Battle Stage, LEGO Fortnite and Rocket Racing.
