Was A Wisconsin Gym Teacher So Drunk He Maxed Out The Breathalyzer?
FOX 6 Now reports that police were called to E. Main Street in Waukesha around 7:30am to investigate a hit-and-run crash. Law enforcement says Villarreal rear-ended another car before taking off. It’s been alleged that Villarreal told the other driver he needed to leave because he was a teacher and needed to get to school on time. The victim of the crash was able to get a picture of his plate and when police arrived at Saratoga Middle School, where he worked, they found his Jeep smashed in the parking lot.
FOX 6 Now says Villarreal admitted to driving his kid to school earlier that morning and did admit to crashing soon after that. He was given 4 different field sobriety tests and failed all of them. When the school’s principal had police search Villarreal’s office they found alcohol. Court Commissioner David Herring tells FOX 6 Now, “People don’t get to 0.40 overnight–most people are incapacitated and don’t make it. Technically speaking sir, you could be dead at a 0.40. The meter said he was above a 0.4–which is when it maxes out.”
He’s expected back in court on February 4th. FOX 6 News has reached out to the school district but they were told it’s an ongoing personnel matter. You can see a photo of Villarreal in court provided by FOX 6 Now below.
I can’t imagine being able to blow a 0.40 at 7:30am. That means you had to have been drinking, like, all night long. You can’t just instantly get there after a morning drink. He’s clearly going through something and hopefully this was the straw that broke the camel’s back and he’s now going to get clean and learn from this. Being willing to drive your kid to school when you’re that drunk and not seeing a problem with it is a major concern.
