Find Out Why We Had To Hang Up On A Listener!
Today wasn’t the first time we had to hang up on a listener. Sometimes, when people call-in they just don’t meet the requirements. Saying inappropriate things, telling jokes, taking too long, and not getting to the point are a few reasons we’d hang up on you. For a guy today, who called about his silly injury, he just wasn’t providing what we were asking for.
According to NYPost, “A woman in Bandung City, Indonesia, had to be rescued by a whole squad of firefighters after getting her nose ring impossibly caught in a rolling office chair. “She had a new piercing and was playing around, just playing for fun, before she messed up,” Asep Rizky, an official with the Bandung City Fire Department, told local media, per the Daily Mail. The unnamed office employee had apparently been sticking her nose through the chair’s mesh frame when, all of a sudden, “it got stuck,” per the official.”
This story spawned a topic about the silliest injuries our listeners have experienced. We had some good ones. But, what took the cake was when a guy called in about something silly he had done. Right away, he was taking very long pauses between every single word. For the comedy show we are trying to do, we need it to be a little more upbeat than that. Then, he just kept setting the scene without getting to the punchline. We were waiting, and waiting, and even asked him to just tell us how the story ended. He didn’t, so Dave hung up.
We always appreciate people calling in and hope that you will when you have something to share. But remember, give us the goods! If you hit us with a “long story short” or something like that, your chances of being hung up on are pretty good!
Anyway, we hope he calls back sometime and maybe he’ll get there sooner!
