Michigan Hot Pocket Thief Caught While Eating Hot Pockets
A Michigan man accused of stealing Hot Pockets from a store was caught while in the middle of eating Hot Pockets. Caught red (hot) handed.
People love their Hot Pockets. Just as comedian Jim Gaffigan whose comedy bits about the popular microwaved treats have gone on to become iconic. They’re hot and surprisingly better than you would think. They’re so good that people will do anything to get their hands on them–even stealing if they have to. That’s what one man is accused of doing and then he was busted while eating Hot Pockets. It doesn’t sound like it was very hard for law enforcement to connect the dots.
Was A Thief Accused Of Stealing Hot Pockets Busted While Eating Hot Pockets?
According to Click On Detroit, a Michigan man was accused of threatening to shoot store employees at a Dollar General in Highland Park after they reportedly caught him trying to steal Hot Pockets. Then, when police went to arrest him he was eating Hot Pockets. Coincidence? It doesn’t seem to be one.
Click On Detroit has identified that suspect as Daniel Hudson and Hudson was accused of stuffing Hot Pockets into his pockets–one could say he had Hot Pockets–around 10am at the Dollar General. Click On Detroit says that when he was confronted by an employee he took the Hot Pockets out of his pocket, grabbed a container of chicken wings, and started yelling at employees in the store. That’s when he allegedly showed a gun in his coat pocket as well. He then threatened to blow the employees head off, per Click On Detroit.
He was then asked to leave and employees called police. Hudson was later found in the break room of his workplace eating Hot Pockets. He was taken into custody and officers found a 9mm pistol in his backpack during his arrest, per Click On Detroit. The gun was registered to another person and police say Hudson did not have a valid CPL to carry a gun. He says the gun belonged to a woman he used to talk to and she gave it to him back in September. Click On Detroit says Hudson claims he didn’t go there intending on stealing Hot Pockets but he didn’t see a clerk so he decided to put the Hot Pockets in his pockets.
Hudson is now facing charges of being a felon in possession of a firearm.
