Texas Man Arrested At RSW After Drinking On A Flight
A man from Texas was arrested on Wednesday after flight attendants caught him drinking his own booze on a flight.
According to Lee County Port Authority Police Department, Stephen Bellington, 34, was flying into RSW and was holding a crown royal bag full of mini bottles of alcohol. Due to the coronavirus, most airlines have ceased all alcohol sales on flights. According to FAA regulations, you are allowed to have up to 3.4-ounce mini bottles of liquor, but it cannot be consumed on the flight.
The flight crew confronted him and asked him to hand over the alcohol. He then responded that he wasn’t drinking, and finished his cup.
When the plane landed, he tried to exit the plane, but the flight crew asked him to stay in his seat.
Police met him on the jetbridge and had to put him in a wheelchair because he could barely walk. As he was being escorted out, he became aggressive and belligerent. The police had to wrestle him into handcuffs.
He is facing charges of disorderly intoxication, resisting officer, and interfering with flight operations.
