Douglas Bennett, 76, was arrested in Clearwater, Fl, after being on the run for 40 years.
In 1975, he was convicted of robbery, kidnapping, sexual contact, rape, and deviate sexual intercourse in Connecticut.
He was sentenced to 9-18 years in prison. He never turned himself in for his sentence.
in 1977 he began to use the identity of a 5-year-old that died in 1945.
He was arrested after fingerprints confirmed that he was indeed the man convicted in Connecticut.
He faces a maximum of a 12-year sentence for passport fraud and aggravated identity theft.
