Homeless People In Centennial Park Have Nowhere To Go
Due to multiple renovations and a new amphitheater, Centennial Park will be closed down for over a year.
Many homeless people have called Centennial Park their home and due to the pandemic, the number of homeless people in downtown Fort Myers has increased.
Activists are calling on leaders in Fort Myers to provide adequate services for those being displaced from the park.
Lee County Health and Human Services and the Lee County Homeless Coalition are working with the city to ensure that there are options for shelter available.
Some of the activists don’t believe that the city is going to do enough to help out our homeless population.
The activists are staying day and night in Centennial Park until the homeless have some adequate shelter and living conditions.
