911 Call On A Disconnected Phone Turned Out To Be A Prank Call From Child Causing A Massive Manhunt In Lehigh Acres
Lee County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call from a child saying that she couldn’t find her father and needed help. They were able to get her name, age, and description of where she lived. It prompted a massive search.
Sheriff Carmine, command staff, aviation, K-9’s, and more than 60 units responded trying to locate the child.
A female approached deputies believing that her daughter may have made the call as a prank.
This can be a common occurrence as 911 is an easy number to remember for children and they don’t realize the severity of calling the police under false pretenses.
