Southwest Florida Man Once Bitten By Alligator Was Bitten By A Lemon Shark
Justin Stuller, 38, a co-owner of Estero River Outfitters, is recovering well after a brief entanglement with an eight foot lemon shark while on vacation at Snipes Point in the keys.
Stuller, his wife, and kids, are used to going to the keys for vacation for fishing and lobstering. Stuller is an experienced diver having been certified since the age of twelve years old.
He spotted an injured fish in some rocks while he was diving off of Snipes Point. He went to help the injured fish and when he was finished, an eight foot lemon head shark had rolled him over.
He swam to the surface to warn his friends and family to exit the water. His friends and family noticed a five to six inch wound that was very deep on his leg.
His boat was equipped with a first aid kit and was able to tend to his wound swiftly, preventing any loss of blood. He Said, “I tied it off and actually lost very little blood, It was pretty deep, but no bone. I was very lucky, no tendons.”
He’s no stranger to deadly animal encounters. He has encountered numerous sharks in the wild and was even bitten by an alligator before.
Stuller holds no ill will towards the animal though. Saying, “Right place, wrong time. I was more angry I couldn’t go in the water the next day.”
