Sellers in Southwest Florida are lowering prices while available houses reach an 11-month high.
"I think it's time that we had a buyer's market. We've had a seller's market for so long that it's almost like it's self-correcting, and we need this for our economy,” said Laura Masco, a homeowner, to Wink News.
Newly built homes are dropping prices as well. Builders are hoping to sell before potential material costs increase.
"So many new constructions are finished in the worst time ever. And now, while they can write it off if they want to sell it—and most of them have to—they will take a hit and sell it cheaper to you," said broker Dirk Fischer to Wink News.
On March 20, 2025, an event at the Caloosa Sound Event Center in Fort Myers gave valuable insights into market trends and featured speakers Justin Thibaut, Denny Grimes, and Matt Simmons. The meeting focused on important updates in land acquisitions and real estate. The event attracted about 1,300 people, mostly real estate professionals.
