Michigan Man Finds $43K In Couch He Bought From Thrift Store

A Michigan man found $43,000 in a couch he bought from a thrift store. That's quite the find considering he only paid $35 for it!

If you take your time, you can come upon some cool finds at the thrift store. It might be a vintage graphic t-shirt, a nice coat, or some art that's actually incredibly valuable. A few years ago there was a woman who found a Roman artifact at a thrift shop. While this guy wasn't quite that lucky, he did make a very interesting discovery. He found an extra $43K inside the couch from the thrift shop! It happened at the Habitat for Humanity ReStore in Owosso, Michigan. The wad of cash was reportedly inside one of the cushions!

According to ABC News, Howard Kirby purchased the couch and found the $43K in cash inside of it. However, that's not even the most unique or crazy part of the story. I think we can all agree $43K can go a long way. That didn't stop Kirby from returning the money to the couch's owner, however. The store manager, Rick Merling, tells ABC News, "He could use it...He has needs, but he said he just felt this prompting from God that said, 'This isn't yours.'"

The store was able to connect Kirby with the previous owner of the couch and they were shocked. ABC News reports that the couch belonged to the grandfather of the family who recently died and they had recently got rid of the couch. Merling tells ABC News, "I think they were hoping there might be some pictures. They would have never dreamed that it was money."

Merling told the news that he often hears from people who discovered items that were left behind but says Kirby was the first to actually return something. Merling tells ABC News, "He's happy that he's got a couch. Someone said, 'Are you gonna give the cushion back?' And he said, 'No, that's a $43,000 cushion.'"

Have you ever found something crazy at a thrift store? This would be a crazy find and good on him for returning it. That's a lot of money! You could get a lot of clothes from the thrift store for that kind of money and several couches. Have you ever heard of anyone finding anything close to this? You never know what could be brought in to your local thrift store.

Then, Chuck says if he took a pill that was able to grow his dong and hair, he would be the face of it for free! Now, that's a product I could get behind! There are so many products that would be awesome to see Chuck endorse. The one true influencer.

Things change as the years go by. At some point, Pound Town has to close down. When it happens? Nobody knows, but we're all going to get there eventually.

Dave & Chuck the Freak talk about a video that was posted by Taryn Manning (an actress known for 'Orange is the New Black', '8 Mile, and 'Hustle & Flow') where she discusses performing orally on the backdoor of a married man and buying him a new boat.
