New Exercise Pill Claims To Mimic The Effects Of Running A 10K
A new exercise pill claims to mimic the effects of running a 10K! Will we ever need to workout again?
The new pill was reportedly made by scientists in Denmark and it sounds pretty unbelievable. An exercise pill that can mimic the effects of running a 10K? That’s a ton of exercise and you’re telling me I don’t need to get off the couch to accomplish it? Can’t help but wonder what the side effects must be because this sounds too good to be true.
Does A New Exercise Pill Mimic The Effects Of Running A 10K?
Speaking of running and exercising, Dave & Chuck The Freak are hosting a .5K Pub Crawl in Royal Oak, Michigan on Saturday, October 19th. You’ll likely be feeling pretty gassed after all that running and you might just feel like you ran a 10K or took this new exercise pill. Thankfully, a .5K is much much shorter.
Pretty crazy that this new exercise pill claims to mimic the effects of running a 10K this could be a real game changer. According to Sci Tech Daily, researchers at Aarhus University synthesized a molecule called LaKe that replicates the metabolic effects of exercise and fasting. This advancement reportedly allows the body to mimic the states of high lactate and ketone levels which can aid in rigorous exercise and diet routines. They say it can even possibly assist in treating brain-related conditions like Parkinson’s and dementia, per Sci Tech Daily.
Professor Thomas Poulsen from the Department of Chemistry at Aarhus University tells Sci Tech Daily, “We’ve developed a molecule that can mimic the body’s natural metabolic response to strenuous exercise and fasting. In practice, the molecule brings the body into a metabolic state corresponding to running 10 kilometers at high speed on an empty stomach.” He continued, “When lactate and ketone levels in the blood increase, the production of an appetite-suppressing hormone increases, and the level of free fatty acids in the blood decreases. This has a number of health benefits, for example reducing the risk of developing metabolic syndrome.”
It sounds like this could end up having a lot of benefits and improve brain function which would be phenomenal. Just can’t help but wonder what the negative side effects are. We’ve heard about the down side to weight loss drugs like Ozempic and can’t help but wonder if this new exercise pill would keep you on the toilet or something.
