Drunk Florida Woman Punches Elderly Bartender at Hurricane Tina’s
Okay, you have to be a really drunk Florida woman to assault a beloved 97-year-old bartender. A straight-up mean drunk at that. According to NBC2, this went down at Hurricane Tina’s Bar on San Carlos Island. This past Friday, the place turned into a roadhouse brawl when a 24-year-old woman, Sarah Powell, walked in. She claimed to be the owner’s sister. Well, the bartender, a 97-year-old woman named Betty Kai, wasn’t buying it. She knew the owner pretty well and could smell something fishy from a mile away.
So Sarah, clearly wasted, came back demanding drinks. Betty, being the wise lady she is, wasn’t having any of it and refused to serve her. That’s when things got messy. Sarah, not taking “no” for an answer, started getting aggressive and threatening Betty.
Betty tried to keep her out of the bar, but Sarah grabbed her arm. Now, Betty wasn’t about to back down from a drunk Florida woman, so she pushed Sarah away. Sarah, in her drunken fury, punched Betty square in the face. Yes, a 24-year-old punk punched a 97-year-old woman.
The other people in the bar jumped in, restrained Sarah, and showed her butt the door. Betty quickly locked up and called 911. Poor Betty got some cuts on her arm and her cheek was all red and swollen. Not a good look for a 97-year-old superhero.
Drunk Florida Woman Arrested:
When the police showed up, Sarah the drunk punk had already taken off, probably stumbling towards Fort Myers Beach. But don’t worry, they caught up with her the next day. Sarah, still the drunk florida woman we all know, gave a fake name and even tried to punch a deputy. Yup, that’s our Sarah.
Now she’s facing a whole number of charges. Let’s see, giving a false name to law enforcement, battery on a person 65 years or older, battery on law enforcement, and resisting an officer without violence. She’s now enjoying her stay at the Lee County Jail.
Now this drunk Florida woman knows not to mess with 97-year-old bartenders. They’ve seen it all, and they won’t hesitate to throw it down.
