Can you call a Lamborghini stolen if you left it unlocked with the keys inside in a public parking lot? You are making it pretty easy on the thieves! Well, that's what happened. Learn how it played out below.
Lamborghini Stolen From Salt Lake Airport With Keys Inside
According to KSL, Salt Lake City police were looking for help locating a Lamborghini that was left in short-term parking at the airport on June 1st with all of the doors unlocked and the keys still in the vehicle because when the owner returned a week later the car was missing. It was no longer where he had left it (with the keys inside and doors unlocked).
KSL reports the owner of a blue Lamborghini Urus with a Utah license plate (G829TV) had parked in the lot for a week before coming home and discovering the car was gone. It did not take them long to find a suspect.
A statement from the Salt Lake Police said, "Based on the preliminary investigation, detectives believe the suspect flew into Salt Lake City on June 3. The suspect went to the airport's parking garage and starting checking car doors. When the suspect came across the Lamborghini, he found the car unlocked with the keys inside, allowing him to steal the car."
Police have shared video from the scene that shows the car being stolen and pictures of a man who allegedly took it. Anyone who recognizes the suspect or who has information on the missing sports car are encouraged to call police at 801-799-3000. Check out the video and pictures below!
