What Did A New Mexico Man Do After Climbing A Bumblebee Statue?
According to KOB 4, Albuquerque police have arrested a man for climbing a Bumblebee statue and then taking off his clothes! The Transformer statue is in downtown Albuquerque, New Mexico. Police have identified the man as Hector Melero.
KOB 4 reports that the first indecent was reported around 5:45am on Monday morning. Many people called police to report what was happening. Police arrived and helped him down and took him to the Westside Emergency Housing Shelter, per KOB 4. However, a few hours later he returned and did the exact same thing again! This time, he was arrested for indecent exposure.
Esteban Duran works for Sunwest Silver whom owns the statues. Duran tells KOB 4, "The most concerning part was it doesn't matter if he was clothed or unclothed really, safety is a factor because the height of this one he climbed up is probably a good 20 feet. He could have fallen, he could have slipped, he could have hurt himself pretty seriously." Okay, yes, safety is important but let's not act like him being naked and stripping down up there had nothing to do with it! You can't do that!
