Police Officer Removes Bat From Home With Unique Method
Have you ever had a bat find its way into your home? It can be incredibly scary! They’re fast, they’re scary, and they’re agile. Now, when it eventually happens to you, you’ll know what to do thanks to this Police Officer who removes a bat from a home with a unique method.
What shouldn’t you do? Freak out. Instead, keep calm and do what this officer does.
Police Officer Removes Bat From Home
When a bat ended up inside a home in Massachusetts, a family did what I would have done and called the cops. In the video below, you can see the cop bravely take action. It looks like this might not be his first time taking care of a problem like this.
In the video, you can see the officer pick up some towels that have been placed over the bat. Then, there’s another officer standing by holding onto a Tupperware container.
The officer puts the Tupperware over the towel and then slides the towel gracefully away. He then slides a new different flat object underneath the container, so that the bat is situated inside. After that, he walks the entire thing outside to safely release the bat.

What To Do If You Find A Bat Inside
The Humane Society recommends you don’t become alarmed if a bat enters your house. Instead, stay calm and follow these few steps to remove them safely and humanely.
The Humane Society recommends that if you’re going to take care of the bat yourself, contact your state wildlife agency to ensure what rules and laws you must follow. It can vary state to state.
Also, you should wear thick work gloves if handling a bat. Don’t wear cotton as bats can bite through the material quite easily. The Human Society says you should carefully place a plastic tub or container over them to capture them, just as we saw in the video! It looks like it was handled correctly!
