33-Story Building Coming To St. Pete
Are you ready for the downtown St. Pete skyline to change? A new proposal by a development company that is based downtown could bring a mammoth 33-story building to the St. Petersburg skyline very soon. The building, referred to as “3rd and 3rd” would take up just under an acre of property, but would rise 375 feet above the city when completed. That would make it among the tallest buildings in the area. St. Pete developer Echelon is planning to flatten a 3-story building that sits on the property now and replacing it with 268 apartments and 15,000 of ground floor retail shops that will feature everything from bars and restaurants to convenience stores.
The apartments will range from studios to large penthouses on the top floor. All units will feature high-end appointments. The studios are designed to be affordable, which is a bit of a change from past projects in downtown St. Pete. All residents will have access to the 8th floor, which will contain a pool, fire pits, a TV wall and more. Another interssegin part of the building is the propsed balconies, which will be as large as 14 feet wide by 12 feet deep. The parking garage will hold 323 cars and up to 286 bicycles. If approved, construction should begin the first quarter of 2023 and finish in mid-2025. Source: stpeterising.com
