Weezer’s ‘Teal Album’ Estimated for Top 10 Entry
Weezer took everyone by surprise last week with the release of their self-titled covers LP. Considering the buzz that followed, “The Teal Album” unsurprisingly is headed to a solid chart position.
Per Billboard, “The Teal Album” is projected to enter the top ten on the latest Billboard 200 album chart with 35,000 album units earned. This is the album’s first full week of chart activity.
It debuted on last week’s Billboard 200 chart at number 47. Because of its surprise release, it was available for chart placement. However, only one day of sales/stream activity was counted, hence the low debut.
There’s a good chance Weezer’s chart success will continue with the March 1 release of their other self-titled album (aka: “The Black Album.”) Two tracks have been previewed: “Can’t Knock the Hustle” and “Zombie Bastards.” Both songs can be streamed below. (WARNING: Some NSFW language ahead.)
“The Black Album” is available for pre-order at WeezerWebstore.com.
