The legend of Weezer’s cover of Toto’s “Africa” continues with their performance on last night’s episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live!

The band took to Kimmel’s outdoor stage and were joined by Toto keyboardist Steve Porcaro, who provided the song’s bridge solo during the performance.  Sure, it looked like Rivers Cuomo was singing the lyrics off of a laptop that was not-so-subtly placed in front of him, but considering this cover is now a reality because of a ridiculous Twitter campaign started by a teenage fan, who really cares, right?

(Fun fact:  Their cover of “Africa” marks Weezer’s first appearance on the Billboard Hot 100 in the 2010s.)

Weezer would also perform their hit “Buddy Holly” last night during their appearance.  That laptop was still in front of Cuomo, but he seemed much more comfortable and at ease, which is good considering “Buddy Holly” is over two decades old.
